Michelle Christerson is owner and licensed provider of Enchanted Acres Preschool and Childcare. Michelle has extensive experience working with young children. Michelle began working with children at just 12 years of age and in the 3rd grade told her teacher she wanted to be a teacher when she grew up. Michelle graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1997. While at SKHS Michelle continued babysitting and took every Early Childhood Education class that was offered acing everyone. In September 1997 Michelle attended Olympic College to study Early Childhood Education and prepare herself to earn a 4 year degree to teach. In 1998, Michelle had a beautiful daughter Mikayla and continued to attend OC. In 1999, Michelle decided she would be better suited to work full time to support herself and her daughter and ultimately made the decision not to pursue a degree. However, she does hold many college credits in Early Childhood Education and did go back to school to earn a certificate in Child Daycare Management in 2006. Michelle has continued throughout the years to complete trainings to further her experience to work with younger children. Michelle began teaching preschool in 2000 and has nannied and or taught since giving her almost 9 years of "professional" experience. Not only has she provided childcare and been a preschool teacher she has also been a sub as a Kindergarten teacher for a local private school. Michelle and her husbend Ryan adopted a baby boy in May of 2006. Their son Kaden is now 2. Michelle originally opened a preschool in September of 2007 but realized there was a great need for quality childcare in Kitsap County therefor expanding her services to include childcare in April of 2008.
